Trees under the moonlight, a photo from Nordland, Nord

Photographer's Note

Only 10 minutes drive from Mo i Rana I found this location last Monday evening around 22:00 hrs. The moonlight was bright making the trees look spooky, while the cloud to the left was lit up by an orange light from the city.

The light might be caused be the local steelworks melting slag.

Spectacular night photo Lars,
I even think that this scene is part of some set-scene. A orange light behind the trees is impressive.

It seems quite unrealistic, the orange cloud, but as I know all the light pollution here in Europe, it is possible...

Very goood composition. Great POV and very well sharpened. Lovelly white tones against the dark sky. Almost monochromatic. Well captured orange cloud.

Gorgeous scenery. Almost unreal! How cold was it? Very clear colors and a nice and mysterious light. This light cannot be compared to daylight. Really strange!

Interesting shot! I like winter landscape and snow fur-trees.
The foreground is looked separately and volumetric. IMHO it is not always good.

Lars, tu es dans le domaine de l'étrange. Ce nuage qui semble venu de nulle part avec ses tons chauds s'oppose à tout le reste du paysage qui, lui, est bien lunaire. Merci.

Great shot. Love the colors and the composition of the photograph.

One thing you might want to do is clone out the stars since they really just look like dust or noise.

Nice scene, the colours are confusing, the photo looks like it is made from two layers - one being the b&w trees on the front, the second - the blue sky.
