Photographer's Note
Took this shot abt 20 km from the swedish border up in the mountains. The clock was 11:30 am when I took this picture. Check out the height of the sun over the mountains! It's gone in the lowlands for a couple of months... I can expect the sun to shine into my livingroom the 12th of mars 2006! So it's a while to wait :-)

Hi Tommy,
beautiful picture, horrible thought, no to see the light of the sun for such a long time. I try to escape the winter here in Holland for a few weeks each year.
I like the shade and shine on the snow on the forground. very well done,
Thanks and regards

Looks quite alien. I like it. I like the three overlapping textures. The sky and the lake are different colors but same texture. The lake and the foreground are same color, but different textures.
Plus there is the fact that it is almost noon and the sun is at head-level... But think of June, when there will be sunlight in the middle of the night! Would love to see the same photo on the longest day of the year, at 1:30am!

Hi Tommy beautiful view on that lake.
the POV, the strong light of the sun and the colours are amazing. excellent also how you did captured the blue sky with the sun "inside" the photocamera.
i visited many years ago the Sweden and the Finalnd Lappaland, but in July, when the sun go to sleep only few hours!
and i'm agree with Gerrit, odn't see the sun for so many months is very hard.
i live in Milano, a city that in Italy is considered as a city with few sunny days and bad weather...next time that a Southern Italian will remember me that fact i will think at you!
thanks, ciao

Hi Tommy, nice picture and a great explanatory story. I live much southern than you, however after the first snow showed up today, I wish to be March 12, 2006 too to start a new photo season. Nice picture however a bit dark. Please see my workshop to enlighten the shadows. Cheers, Michael

Stunning photo. The colors are beautiful, the sunlight is wonderful and I love it how it reflects onto the scenery.
Take care,
Ann

Hello tommy,
I am sorry for your loss, lol. I know what it can be like to be without the sun for long periods as I have spent time in the north of Canada. As well I have heard many stories of the lost sun from my dear grandmother who was born in Kabelvag, Lofoton, Norway north of 60. Great photo and I hope the months go by quickly for you.
Cheers,
Craig

Hello Tommy,
I like the general ambiance of the photo, but not the artefacts around the sun.
Have a nice night ;o)

Gratulerer Tommy. Du har klart det igjen etter enda en Sverigetur! Om du savner sola til våren, kan du jo bare besøke meg i byen. Sola kommer til tross en god del tidligere her enn på Hauknes.

Hi Tommy
Your photo is great-nice muted colours and the shine on the snow is just magical. To shoot into the sun and get such great results is amazing.

Hi Tommy,
OK, that's an "old one", but probably one of my favorite in your nice gallery... I like the smooth light of that setting sun. Nice note too...
Cheers,
Loïc

Hi Tommy, i'm discovering your gallery and happy to see your so remote pictures of north norway ... waou impressive to see where the sun is at 11:30 am !! This has something magical, perhaps something depressing to live that ... But you did well to show us that particularity of north pole, i love that :) Great experience for sure ... Technically saying i would have suggested a F22 stop in order to get a beautiful star effect on sun shooting against it ... You should try you will see how beautiful this setting is in that case.
Excellent :)
