View from Tjeldsund bridge towards North. The bridge was opened in 1967 and it connects Norwegian mainland to the island of Hinnøya. It is part of a network of bridges that connect the islands of Vesterålen and Lofoten to the mainland.

Hello Kari,
A nice view of the many flat and very green islands. It's interesting to see that the sea is so shallow here. It's obviously not suitable for anything much larger than small private motor boats.

Hello Kari,
This region in Norway is high on my wish list to visit again one day.
It was close to me once in Abisko, but then the motorway from Kiruna to Narvik was not ready and we had to turn around at the border.
Your beautiful pictures of this area confirm that I have to go there again one day.

Hello Kari, I haven't realized that one can go by car everywhere from mainland to the islands. I went to Lofoten by ferry from Bodo and then I used only local buses, it was not easy, I must say :). in the end of August you will have no white nights there. Nice composition with the small islands.

Both the land and the sea have a splendid colour.
Beautiful view with the several islets.
I was on Lofoten in 1980 and and I remember using ferries from one island to another. I had already heard that there are bridges now but also connecting to the mainland ... Wow.

That's a breathtaking view from the bridge, a wonderful view in summer showing the surrounding landscape especially its mouth watering blue water and greater depth of field blessed by subtle warm light.
