Photographer's Note
This photo was taken very close to my previous upload from Lofoten - in between the towns of Utakleiv and Leknes.
We were literally just driving around exploring, and we stopped the car to get this scene, for obvious reasons it stood out.
If you look closely, you'll notice how the lake is frozen, but half frozen, and the reflection is basically a half reflection a well :)
It was lucky timing, because the sun came out with clouds. Our previous 2 days were all overcast and cloudy, but in the negative way with poor lighting.
When we saw these blue skies we headed outside as quickly as possible and just went driving without and specific direction in mind. Often you'll come across excellent photo opps that way.
Hope you like this one!

Hi Craig,
I liked the way how you created movement from a still nature. I can almost sense the movement of the clouds towards the viewer. Nice wide lens application.
Have a nice day,
Engin.

Hello Craig,
Yes, your other photos from Lofoten are beautiful but rather gloomy, without green and with gray cloudy skies. It looks so different with the sun and blue sky with some clouds. I think that such views there are everywhere around. Water, mountain and red small house. I like the houses with grass on the roof.
There quite many buses so no problem with seeing some places. it seems that Reine and Hamnoy are the most attractive. I do not know yet if it is possible to climb a bit to see the view from above. I am so excited already.

Again a spectacular scene from the North. Even I hate winter and cold, a visit there would be a real delight.

Hello Craig ,
Ah , Ah ... I can understand that you were so excited when "the rain let up and the sun came up" .
You've found here a superb place to compose perfectly your picture , where the two red buildings stand out the coldes tonalities (blue , white , brown) .

Hello Craig, the red buildings draw the eyes in, and then we begin to look around at all the other details.
As you mention, half the lake is frozen, so the reflection is affected, but in an interesting way.
What a difference a blue sky can make to a scene!
Regards Jean.

Bonjour Craig
Une photo très rafraîchissante pour la saison. Cette lentille est très nette sur une très large profondeur. Le point de vue très bas en rajoute. La lumière est chaude malgré la neige.

Hello Craig,
Another super photo from one of my favourite places, Lofoten. We were there briefly at the same time of year as you in 2014. The red buildings are punchy and the blue sky suggests that the snow may not last too much longer. Your wide-angle lens has a dramatic effect on the clouds.
Best wishes, Ann

Beautiful snow patchs on the waterfront of the Fjord, Craig - but there is a visual effect that caught my eyes: seem as the scene has a converging lines of shades from both sides towards the lower point in the ridge far beyond, probably a result from the low sun-rays angle.
Pleasent to look at.

Strong composition & powerful colours.
Beautiful, but probably shivering cold.

Hello Craig,
At first I did not notice the reflection.
Really a special effect created by the fact that the lake was only partially frozen.
The eye-catching red houses are positioned well on the image.

Hola Craig
Searching for your India photos i MUST stop at this quite eye catching view, quite agree, best photos are not searched , they just appears
Here is a good composition of textures, land snow covered and red barn to add a touch of color , besides the frozen part of the lake acting as a mirror
Well done, regards

Hello Craig,
a spectacular view, which you captured with superb clarity, composed and framed very well so that this scenery, wild and peaceful at the same time, looks so dynamic and vibrant. Amazing that you found a spot in the background where most diagonals converge. The intense colours and contrasts, as well as the interesting details, obvious or hidden, make your photo so fascinating and gratifying. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,
Ourania

Ciao Craig
Saluti

Hi Craig
The brown and the blue go so well together. The 2 red elements become important elements - the only warm places. The little wooden pier is nice, too. This scene reminds me a lot about Greenland. I really like your series from lofoten.

Hello Craig,
This scene, because of the scattered snow, reminds me of one of those glass domes, filled with water, that you can shake and it scatters snow over all the features.
The colour palette is very patriotic, blue and white abound, with just enough red to draw it all together. This is so different from England in April, which is so very very green!
There is a wildness to this place which I feel is a great attraction to you, things to discover, nothing quite predictable. For anyone who has to follow quite a rigid work timetable, places and opportunities like this are a great release.
Though I do appreciate its beauty, so well captured on your photographs, I still prefer to explore historical places in a slightly warmer clime.
Have a great w/e,
Bev :-)

Hi Craig
This rugged landscape looks amazing showing the enormous detail highlight of this remote place and i can feel the cold! I love especially the way the sun has lit up the icy terrain so well showing off the shadows, texture & the blast of rich colours and it's always awesome to witness how the delicious blues and moving clouds have actually done you favours to clinch this shot so beautifully. Great lens work and tfs, Congrats
Best wishes

Hello Craig
Driving around the Lofoten without a plan is just the right thing to do and one comes across countless sights, one more stunning than the next as your beautiful scene here proves so perfectly.
The snow covered landscape under the wide open sky with the red barn as perfect focus point is truly amazing and gorgeous.
have a great Sunday

Hello Craig,
Very dynamic shot that has a real sense of motion to it. At first I thought there was a person on the small deck, but now I see it's some kind of life preserver. I really need better glasses!! Love the vivid red and blue. It looks cold!!

Hi Craig,
beautiful scenery and so colorful! Undisturbed sunlight makes everything so much more colorful. Red house adds a nice touch and goes well with the blue tones. The wide angle created an amazing effect too.
You did a great job advertising this place as I heard now that emka is also going there!
The sky could not be any better with the subtle clouds so nicely spread across the predominantly blue sky.
Excellent work!!

Hi Craig,
Cool and beautiful 3D effect, everything is moving around in the picture. But it's one of those that when you look at what's moving, it stops and it's only in your periphery. Haha, not a great description :) the red house really pops in all this blue and grey . Stunning shot.
I hope all is well.
Cheers
