Photographer's Note
Herbie Hancock played a new version of Watermelon Man. It was inspired by Lional Lueke’s piece called 17, short for 17 beats per bar. Marcus Miller’s band provided back-up.

Hello Larry,
A good portrait of an artist!
The image is full of energy, well framed and well captured under something I will presume is a difficult situation!

Larry, this is certainly not the type of photography that I do but I appreciate the difficulty in taking such portraits in low light. The blurness fits quite well here confering a strong dynamism that goes along with the joy expressed in the musicians face. It really seems that you're having real fun during this jazz trip!

Hi Larry,
A great action shot. The blur adds to the sense that he is playing live on my screen.
