Photographer's Note

The first actual stop in my recent trip to Poland was my hometown Tarnów. This photo presents a fragment of its train station façade. I have showed you already a wider view of it captured at the blue hour here:

You can read at the top of the façade Anno Domini MCMX which marks the year when the station was completed. Few more facts from the history of the station:
1856: start of the railway Krakow - Bochnia - Tarnow - Debica.
1906-1910: construction of the railway station designed by E. Baudisch.
13.11.2010: opening of the station after a thorough renovation.

After you arrived at the train station, in the subsequent photos I will take you for a short walk through the town.

Hello Mariusz,
I remember the blue hour shot of the railway station of Tarnów.
It was very quiet that evening. Here there's already more life in the photo but this won't be the busiest station in Poland, I think.
Good that the commuters seem to go to the station by bike. In Belgium there's a bicycle allowance for those who work for one or another government service and who go to work wholly or partly by bicycle.
Now that you have worked in other countries for so many years, your home city will undoubtedly amaze you with innovations/changes every time you visit.
A photo with a very beautiful light and excellent brightness.

Hello Mariusz,
A good vertical view of the railway station and the bikes in the foreground. I like the contrast between the lit and shaded areas. It is a nice and classic railway station building.

The clock says you took the picture early morning or early evening, could not make sure of which...
Anyway, a fine outcome to the whole.
Managed to include several attraction to the RR station facade picture: the people in front of the entrance, lamp-post & bikes.

Hello Mariusz,
I only passed through a small part of Tarnów by bus, so I can't remember seeing this fine railway station. It's a very nice building in an elegant classic style. You had to back some distance to get it all in a well framed photo, and the bicycles helped you by filling the foreground and creating quite good depth. The photo is very well exposed in sunny and shady areas alike.

I liked a lot the beauty of the design of that details above the arch, almost imitating a wheel of a chariot framed by wings. excellent view. I left my town only twice and in each time it was ever in my mind. anyway being apart so many time like you I presume it isn't the same town where you lived.

Hello Mariusz, this facade reminds me very much of a theatre, it is really quite splendid.
I like the 'portrait' presentation with the bicycles filling the foreground very nicely.
The sunlight has highlighted all the features of the station building.
