St Elizabeth's Church

This is a photo from another side (actually the north-western corner) of Market Square in Wrocław (Rynek we Wrocławiu). It shows St Elizabeth's Church (Kościół Św. Elżbiety), a brick Gothic church from the 14th century with a 91.5 metre-tall tower. Between 1525 and 1945 it was the main Protestant church in the city, but nowadays it’s Roman Catholic. It is regarded as one of the icons of Wrocław and it is one of the biggest churches in Silesia.

Hej Lars,
Den här vyn känner jag väldigt väl igen. Det är väl på gården mellan kyrkan och den lilla byggnaden som man kan hitta flera små skulpturer av lustiga figurer, om jag inte minns fel. Här ser vi flera vackra byggnader i väldigt olika stilar. På art nouveau-byggnaden till vänster fångade du dessutom en del fina speglingar. Det är en fin bild med fint ljus och en bra stämning.

a curious architecture, in special the black part in the top looks unusual. nice vertical compo catching the other buildings around too and even the people in the street.

Hallo Lars,
Een zeer mooie foto van gebouwen met uiteenlopende bouwstijlen.
De licht gekleurde gevels bieden een goede afwisseling met de rode bakstenen toren terwijl het recentere gebouw links ons prachtige verstoorde weerspiegelingen aanbiedt in zijn glazen gevel.
Rechts op de foto ontdek ik ook nog een interessante boog die vermoedelijk naar kleinere straatjes van het oude stadsdeel leidt.
Mooie compositie, uitstekende helderheid en scherpte.

A very lively & photogenic square with these magnificent buildings as main interest, nice tones and plenty of intriguing features. Brilliant in tones, the colors and detail are especially sumptuous that makes it a very compelling pic. That's a presented architectural image at their best and great narrative too.

J'aime la façon de présenter la ville sous cet angle. L'on peut y voir les vieux immeubles côtoyés avec bonheur, cet édifice religieux, qui domine à travers cette tour impressionnante.
L'ambiance me fait penser à un tableau.

Hello Lars, I like this view from the Wroclaw Rynek. The small house with the gate leading to the big church. I think that there are some dwarfs nearby.

Hello Lars,

I was immediately struck by the height of all the buildings in your photograph. Most seem to have seven storeys, except the small, yellow building in front of the church, which appears to be protected by those surrounding it.
I think, by including the cobbled f/g, you have given these buildings a sense of space.
The sunlight had ceased reaching this part of the square, yet you have been able to capture the scene with fine clarity and good colours.

Hi Lars,
I had the pleasure to climb this tower a while ago, but I think it was complicated to gain the entry. Interesting church for sure and has a great location. I don't know if you are aware of that but these two little houses which are just before the church, one of them is partially hidden here and they are connected together, they are called Hansel and Gretel.

Wonderfully managed the variable light and shadows from the big paved square on this spot, up the tower and the surrounding buildings.
Found the precise corner where taken on Google-Map at 51.1108, 17.031 , than took a virtual tour around.

My first comment is for the dwarf yellow house behaving 'low profile' in the premier league, despite its three-stories design!
Not much people in town to benefit of this architectural oddity that you captured so beautifully!

Sensational composition with the impressive tower of this church, the building on the left almost competes in height with the tower, its large windows give beautiful reflections and the yellow house in front of the tower seems charming to me.
A great photo, with very good color, very well managed both the lighting and the sharpness.

I'll have to check my own shots from this city as well, I got the feeling there are a few more I could post. this is great, what a great view in the vertical format here. the leaning perspective is attractive, as is that yellow little building with the steep roofline. Lots to like here, even many reflections. cheers

Hello Lars, I am very impressed by the height of this tower. it is surrounded by some very interesting buildings.
You have even managed to include some reflections on the l/h/s building.
I like the inclusion of the cobbled area in the foreground, allowing a little space as our eyes are led towards the tower.
