Ponuro¶æ i szaro¶æ, któr± kreuje na zdjêciu g³ównie dym, jest na szczê¶cie ograniczana ciep³em ¶wiat³a s³onecznego, które pod¶wietla chmury. Ta pomarañczowo o¶wietlona partia chmur wygl±da jak jakie¶ wrota w niebie, za którymi byæ mo¿e kryje siê jaki¶ tajemniczy l±d... ¦wietna jest te¿ ta sko¶na rysa na zdjêciu w postaci chmury Cirrocumulus fractus ;). Naturalne piêkno "zachodniego" zjawiska kontrastuje tu z nie-piêknem dymów, których powstanie towarzyszy produkcji energii m. in. potrzebnej do ogrzewania, a którymi cz³owiek zatruwa przyrodê. Uroda zachodu na poprzednim "energetycznym" zdjêciu by³a wyrazista i niczym niezm±cona; tutaj wymaga ona za¶ dostrze¿enia spoza szarych zas³on dymu ;).
Fotografia ³adna, ciekawa, pouczaj±ca, misiêpodobaj±ca :).

Hi Henryk,
You managed to capture a beautiful sky and a great sunset in the early spring. Beautiful dark clouds, as well as smoke from that lonely chimney surrounding the lighter sky around the sun. That diagonal right through the sun is a very nice detail too. Well captured and thanks for sharing!

Bonjour Henryk,
si les usines polluent, elles ont cet avantage minime de garnir le ciel de fumées qui peuvent être esthétiques. La touche de rouge où le soleil se couche est un des points forts de la photo.

this is a very beautifull sky. The colors are amazing. The chimney give a special impression. It's possible to find it beautifull, even if the reality of this is not.

This scenery appears as dramatic, with traces from two sources of pollution!
The powerplant and the masts to carry current to consumers, besides an aircraft was just passing by...

belle photo de ce coucher de soleil si, plus sombre que l' autre mais néanmoins aussi jolis.
Ces lueurs légères, ces superbes nuages sombres, cette trace d' avion, ces ombres chinoises des bâtiments sont de toute beauté et le tout en fait une excellente prise.

The jet line splits open the image throwing light amidst the dark smoke & the dark clouds in the horizon. Nice image from the industrial setting, especially the sky.

The dark, thick clouds give also the impression of polluting smoke, Henryku, and I have a heavy feel as if the earth is suffocating..
I like much the intense red light at the horizon. A moody, thoughtful, disquieting picture; don't know but it has an eerie feel overall, something a bit surreal.

It's surprising how beautiful an industrial skyline can look when taken in the right light. You have a wonderful mixture of man-made and natural "steam" amidst the beautiful sunset colours

Hmm, you need some constructive critique on this and I am glad I can help. First of all the rule of thirds is not followed making the eye trying to find a place to "rest". Then the dark lane at the bottom has some details the eye cannot see and aborts trying! Why not make it completely black (shadow)? This would get rid the annoying white diagonal pipe(?) at the bottom right of the frame. Finally there's so much sky you almost lose the main subject (what is the main subject?).
Sorry man I had to be strict on this one. If not, I would be lying and this is not something that should be expected from anyone here (at least not me!). Try to workshop and maybe repost this one. It has potential and with the right cropping and manipulation, it can be a success.
Again, please don't take my comments the wrong way, I wouldn't want that.

||| Witaj Henryku. Trudno się wypowiadać na taki temat. Z jednej strony się podoba (wykonanie) a z drugiej nie (to co ten "temat" robi z naszą naturą). A plane and smoke stack combine nicely to create a sense of energy created and used. Nice image with a soft texture and colours. The view is interesting and remind me a bit of the city of Katowice. Nice work !

Hello Henryk or should I say the artist:)?
You used to the utmost pefection this sunseting hour to get those beautiful colours in the sky in contrast with this high chimney expelling smoke. I like the rendering of the smoke here against the clouds, and also the fact that it has volume doesn't look flat like i've seen here before.
Now, that piece of roof in the right side, hmmm... doesn't look to artistic but ok it doesn't bother that much too.

Powiem szczerze...klimat powalajacy ale jakos te poprzednie fotki bardziej mi pasowaly...no ale probowac trzeba wszystkiego...

the tranquil light is excellent and the mellow mood beautiful, the horizon gives great depth and the sub light ground help a perfect balance, this is a gorgeous scene.The only thing that i can't understand, and don't write, is the way that we gain energy to heat our houses from this splendid sunset..

Hello Henryk,

You caught a superb sky in this image — the fumes from the tall stack actually enhances the sunset, but than particulates from volcanos also enhance sunsets. The contrail of a jet flight adds beauty to the image. By placing parallel plates with high-voltage gradients the smoke can be precipitated, but it is a gorgeous image as it is. For energy, I am a strong proponent of controlled fusion, achievable within one generation if we mobilize. There would be no radioactive waste, the H-2 present in the oceans (1/142 atoms of hydrogen) is sufficient for ten billion years (more than the lifetime of our sun); the lithium which would be used both as a source of heat to create steam for the turbines, and also to breed H-3 also necessary for the fusion reaction exists for 30,000 years. As an astronomer, you probably know much of this. (I did some theoretical research in plasma physics at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Princeton.)

Factories are usually ugly subjects, but its smoke are always an impressive detail. So, if we compose it in a nice way, we can keep just the detail and make a nice photo, like you did here using the little silhouettes and the nice sky.

Interesting threads...Olá Henryk, I agree with you in everything, although I have some doubts about the roof on the corner. The sky is a powerful painting and mix of diferent energies. Beautiful and a bit scary.
