Neptune..., a photo from Wielkopolskie, Ouest

Photographer's Note

During one of my bicycle trips I met a Neptune with a bench.
It is located on the canoe harbor next to the river Prosna in village Przystajnia.
It was nice to relax in such company :)

The village of Przystajnia is located about 30 km from Ostrów Wielkopolski.

This is a perfect sculpture to have located near the river and canoe harbour,
It is a fine sculpture, very sinuous, with his flowing hair and beard, and very sharply captured in your photograph.
Is it a wooden sculpture?

Czesc Krzysztof,
myslalem ze to pocztowka z nad morza.
Bardzo dekoracyjna rzezba, zdaje sie ze w drewnie? Jesli drewniane to moze naturalny kolor bylby lepiej pasopwal do otoczenia. Z drugiej jednak strony dla zdjecia czerwien kontrastuje z zielonym otoczeniem lepiej.

Hello Krzysztof,
Seeing this wooden sculpture of Neptune, reminder me of the movie Clash of the Titan. As he is standing guard chasing the sea monster Kraken away from the river.
His face expression is very intense and powerful. A god , not to be messed around with. But .....its look to me that he has a mermaid tail - sculptured.
Very strange looking piece of bench. Why not, it's fun to relax in such company, as you put it.

greek mythology has many useful
notes about neptune
the king of the sea....I would
prefer to see this piece of art
near the sea in a better place...
