Photographer's Note

I came to the conclusion that Penela has lots of nice details to photograph. This is the castle seen from the back. This castle, a mediaeval fortress, as I have already told, has played an important role during the Christion conquest and it was an important part of the Mondego River defensive line. Its construction started in the 11th century and lasted till the 16th, owing to the damages caused by the battles. Today it's quite well preserved.
