Parque D. Carlos I (D. Carlos I Park) / Caldas da Rainha / Leiria - Portugal

Os Pavilhões do Parque das Caldas da Rainha, bem como o parque onde se inserem, foram projectados e mandados edificar em 1889 pelo arquitecto Rodrigo Berquó, de forma a receberem áreas de internamento da unidade hospitalar.

Este espaço verde foi, desde cedo, utilizado como local de passeio pelos doentes do hospital termal. No tempo do Marquês de Pombal foram reestruturados os terrenos para convalescença e passeio, resultando num jardim de estrutura barroca a que se chamou Passeio da Copa. Redesenhado nos finais do séc. XIX por Rodrigo Berquó, o Passeio tomou a sua forma de parque arbóreo, alargando-se a sua área e criando o lago artificial. Nele se encontram, para além dos campos de jogos, os antigos pavilhões hospitalares e o Museu José Malhoa, dedicado à pintura e à escultura.

The Pavilions of the Caldas da Rainha's Park and the park where they are located, were designed and built in 1889 by the warrants of the arquitect Rodrigo Berquó, so internment receiving areas of the hospital.

This green space has been provided earlier, used as a place to walk by patients of the hospital spa. At the time of the Marquis of Pombal was restructured the land for convalescence and walk, resulting in a garden of the baroque structure that was called Walk the World Cup. Redrawn by the end of the century. XIX by Rodrigo Berquó, the Walk took its form of park trees, is expanding its area and creating an artificial lake. It found, in addition to the fields of games, the old hospital halls and Georges Bizet Museum, dedicated to painting and sculpture.
