Photographer's Note

I'm hoping you havn't seen this Palace before, hoping you're seeing something new.

This is the Episcopal Palace, basically the former Bishop's Palace of Residence. Seems a little over done in my opinion - but hey, if this is the house you want...go for it.

It was built in the 12th and 13th Centuries, with additions to make it larger as the years went by. Today its used as a seat of Municipality of Porto, as the Bishops left residence in 1956.

Two things first...there was nothing I could do about the super bright white light coming through the dome, may not look level but it actually is. Its very hard to get all the lines to match up. I had to use my 8 mm lens, and even then I still can't fit the entire scene in the frame.

What's so interesting is that the Palace's interior is SO rich and luxurious, yet the outside is somewhat understated - perhaps that's why not many people visit here. Its not too often you see so many pink/peach colors. Quite the opposite to its exterior.

In the WS I will post the only exterior shot I have, and you'll see what i'm talking about. I have so many interior shots but I don't want to bore you.

Trust me, this is another hidden gem in Porto, and you'll be glad you visited this Palace.
