Photographer's Note

This is "Nossa Senhora dos Remédios" church, located at Lamego. This amazing construction is one of the most visited catholic places in Portugal and, defenitely one of the most beautiful temples in this country. It was builded in a high place in this town, so you can see it from almost all places here, and it has hundreds of stairs so that you can climb it since the town´s center to the church.

I choosed this composition and title since, in my opinion, today´s Church (the catholic one...) seems to loose some power, since they tend to not follow the evolution of the mentalities and with this kind of atitude, the Church is loosing more and more people around the world...the use of condoms and the fact of not let the priests to have a family as they sould, are only 2, was this idea that i was trying to explore with this composition, with the trees silhouettes looking like tentacles surronding a Church that each day that passes has more and more difficulty in becoming free itself of this situation...
