IN MORA, LESS THAN ONE HOUR, a photo from Evora, Sud

Photographer's Note

Mora is a small town located in northern Alentejo, it is a brilliant white village located in the top of a small hill, not so far from Sorraia river and its rize fields. This village has a special place in my memories and I spent fabulous moments here. Unfortunately this last visit was so short I had only 2 minutes do take some shots (only this time even). Unfortunately this area was having their ground restored and there was a big hole there. I tried to avoid it but I failed. Here we can see the cityhall and its tower, at my back was the main church I intend to show after.
There is a saying about Mora: Em Mora não se demora sequer uma hora. (In Mora we don't spent even one hour).Anyway it is beautiful, even without so many tourist atractives.

Mora é uma pequena cidade caiada, erguida no topo de uma baixa colina, vigiando os arrozais e o rio Sorraia que passa além. Esta vila tem um lugar reservado em meu coração, fazendo parte de minhas boas memórias. Infelizmente nesta última visita pude revê-la com muito pouco tempo e tive apenas 2 minutos para tirar fotos (não é exagero). Para piorar, o piso do lugar estava em obras e havia buracos por toda a parte, tentei evitá-los ao fotografar, mas ao fim acabei não sendo muito bom nisso. Vemos aqui a prefeitura, atrás de mim estava a igreja matriz, que vou mostrar mais adiante.
Um ditado antigo diz: Em Mora não se demora sequer uma hora. No entanto é um lugar encantador, mesmo tendo poucos atrativos turísticos.

Hi Jorge
I can see that you took this photo around....2:35pm :)
after reading your note, i can understand why you left out the ground.
Its also funny to see the modern garbage/reclycling bins mixed with the old historic architecture.
love the lighting, the atmosphere, the compo.
its going in my Portugal theme!

The clouds care for a nice contrast on the lovely facades of the buildings.
Lovely nature picture with nice light and colors.
I find this work very nice taken, with perfect light and clarity.

Hello Jorge - I read the note and can see why the ground has been cropped out, what a pity about the hole as somehow this fine shot looks slightly unbalanced without it. Nonetheless, I love the atmosphere created by the lovely light and cloudy sky. The colours are superb and the coloured refuse bins make me smile! A charming location and a well managed photograph. As vezes acontece vamos visitar um a cidade e está tudo em obras muito triste mesmo , mesmo assim gostei da fachada frontal desta igreja com os pontos de reciclagem na lateral , bons detalhes , parabéns !!

Very nice shot of the beautiful archtecture. I like the little lamp. Looks like the storm is approaching, I see some warm glow in on the clouds of either the sunset color or the reflection of the earth.

Beautiful photo the lighting in this Village was perfect especially with the slightly dark sky overhead.
