Photographer's Note

I must say taking this photo was a really hard job. This pov is far from the one I wanted to take but in fact there's something about this church that makes things really difficult. To get the houses straight it just seems the church is about to fall down. I've taken several but I guess this is the best I could get.
The word Oriola comes probably from the word Ouro, that means gold and that's because there used to be gold mines in this area and we know this was a very important place during the Roman period. Today Oriola is a small quiet village, not far from Portel. The chapel I'm showing is São Lourenço, the one used by the inhabitants now. It dates from the 16th century and had works in the 19th. I finally created my theme for the churches in this region!
