Photographer's Note

Just in case I forget or I have no opportunity to greet everybody personally (what a way to hide that I am lazy 8-), here it goes my Christmas postcard to all of you.

As far as I know, this is the third post of this gigantic Christmas tree, which is said to be the biggest of Europe (in my country there is this ridiculous fascination for these trivial records, I suspect it is much to forget the other more important ranks in which we are in the lowest positions). sacavem did the first post, then AiresSantos did another one. As I am a shameless imitator, now it's my turn.

This is the fifth year that this tree made of steel is mounted in Lisbon and this year they had to lower its height because it stands in a much higher place where it could interfere with the flights of the airplanes approaching the airport. It is 44 m (144 ft) high, while in the past it was 76 m (249 ft). It stands on Parque Eduardo VII, which is one of the main parks of the centre of the city, overlooking much of the city centre and the estuary of Tagus river.

WS: Another view, showing other type of lights.

I am not sure if I'll do any other post before New Year, so I wish you also a Happy New Year.
