Photographer's Note

This photo was taken at Nation's Park and it's a detail from one of many vulcanos that we can find there.

The park was built with the general theme of "The oceans, a heritage for the future" and some 142 countries and international organizations participated. Today it offers a unique and exciting experience!

The former grounds of the 'Expo 98' were not left to abandonment and is now called 'Nations Park' (Parque das Nações). Used both during the day and at night, it offers numerous attractions: you can use its promenade by the river for a run, for a walk or just to sit and enjoy the view of Vasco da Gama Bridge; visit some of the pavilions that are still open like the Oceanarium , the Virtual Reality Pavilion, the Knowledge Pavilion, Macau Pavilion, attend live concerts in the Atlantic Pavilion; enjoy the cable car ride; cross the street and go shopping in the Vasco da Gama Shopping Centre; have an exquisite meal in some of the finest restaurants in town or just have a drink in one of the relaxed bars! As you can see, there is a choice for everyone.

Hi Teresa
what strikes me at first glance are the contrasting vertical and horizontal lines.
the colours are vivid and stand out.
simple yet very effective, and creative photography.
also, the water dripping down adds motion to still life.

yo también espero que todo vaya bien en tu familia, y también te deseo un excelente año 2010.
Respecto a la foto, sólo puedo decir que es un magnífico ejercicio basado en el grafismo, las texturas y los vivos colores de los elementos captados en tu gran encuadre, y una composición realmente atractiva para la vista.
Me gusta, su sencillez le da su gran fuerza.

Tambem tenho uma foto parecida com esta :) , mas sem o bebedouro da agua amarelo e azul , foi uma bela ideia de o incluir na foto se destaca bem pelas suas cores fortes ,parabéns!!

love the contrasting vertical lines in strong blues and yellows, fighting against the reds and water on the left.

Olá Teresa, está fantástico o efeito desta cortina de água colorida. As riscas de cores 'pop' do bebedouro fazem um impacto visual incrível, chocalhando ainda mais a cortina. A composição abstracta ficou excelente. A Ana diz que vai finalmente pegar na máquina não digital para fazer este tipo de fotos - espero bem que sim... ;-)
