Taken from the corner of Rossio square and Rua de Betesega.

Very nice close-up of these nice and colourful architecture and there is up in the hill the castle dominating the city. Good shot and good POV.

Very good this composcion in which the foreground with the detail of the walls and lampposts sequence is very attractive, the mighty castle on top, dominating the whole is fantastic.

POV well selcetd and composition well balalnced with the famous Sao Jorge castle at the top of the hill and the well coloured Lisboa's houses. Details of these houses well colected. The composition in differents plans give too depht to the image.

Splendid view with the a lot houses.
The real eye catcher is te fantastic towers of the castle above on the mountain.
Also an excellent angle this gives perspective and depth image.

Splendid picture of the center of Lisbon.
I like the view of the beautiful buildings on the foreground followed by the other houses built on different levels with the Castle of São Jorge on top of the hill.
I have a similar picture that I thought to post once but you're a little faster :)

the old castle of lisbon.it survived so many troubles, it is the magical mood of the old buildings.

A fantasic close up shot of these buildings, I like the pastel colors. The lamp on the left is an added attraction. The sharpness and colors are great.The castle on the top is an eye catcher.

Too bad there's really no getting around all of the electrical wires because I really like the many lines, shapes and muted colors of this photo. The castle walls above the city are impressive and really stand out with your framework. Now if only those wires could somehow disappear! ha

What wonderful architecture, amazing colours and details. The tight framing works really well here, with just that hint of sky and our eye is gradualy lead towards the top of the hill where the magnificent castle dominates the township. Beautiful shot of an amazing place.

Hello Ike,

You're capturing well this cityscape by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the crowded buildings with colorful outer wall, many windows and red roof in Lisbon, and the castle with stone rampart on hilltop. It's also impressive in street lamps. So, it seems to the port town which left a medieval good atmosphere here.

Hopefully in the next year or two for sure!

whats best about this one is the composition, kind of like a collage format i suppose.
everything is squeezed in tight against each other.

and i know some people may not enjoy the wires, but personally i think it adds a touch of realism and charm.

about my last comment to your photo - I guess I was just surprised by the modern touches on the building, it looked a bit funny and strange, thats all, I wasn't expecting it. Perhaps I didn't explain myself clearly :)

interessantes Foto von der Festung São Jorge, was in Lissabon nicht leicht ist die vielen Freileitungen (Bus, Strom, Telefon) fotografisch auszuweichen!

Hello Ike,

I really like this photograph.
It is so full of details, nothing is superfluous.
It is almost as if the tall, coloured houses have been built compactly, in layers, to form the strength and foundations for the castle, atop of the hill!
A really well judged photograph!

Hi Ike,
This is a great perspective o the fortress above. Most of the time we see photos from there towards the town but not often in this direction.
Nice composition with the multitude of colorful facades and the lampposts.
The quality has suffered a bit I wonder whether it is due to the zoom or weather or both. To be honest I am too often unhappy with the performance of my new camera as well. If I want to be sure I get a sharp photo I take several shots now to be able to pick one later. Maybe my hands are shaking already too much...
