Photographer's Note

Lisbon is a city of decorated surfaces - the famed tiles, the slightly less well known, but once you are there, very obvious graffiti and in various areas some splendid examples of natural decay.

This picture was printed as a postcard and this is what I've scanned it from as I don't have the print to hand.

Great find Kev, lots of interesting detail in the wall. Maybe the scan has left rather low contrast and subdued colours. I usually correct the perspective distortion for this kind of thing, but I like the way we're left looking up at this one here.

This is good, I love the texture of the peeling paint, we can really feel the surface with this shot. I like the lo-fi effect as well, it gives it that nice dated feel. I would have preferred just a little more space above the window, just to see the top of the frame, but its good like this as well.

hi kev, im glad to be back find new stuff of yours; obviously i would not let you down with not-commenting on my favorit motiff - closup of windows/doors; final effect here (scanning the post card) resulted in a fine grain, even more emphesizing the character of the wall; love it
