Afternoon light, a photo from Lisboa, Sud

Photographer's Note

Today I am not very creative, and present another image taken in the Praça do Comércio, in Lisbon, a charming place that I enjoyed for several times, and where I could take many photos during the week that I spent in the city.
A photographer always finds some thing, some scene, some angle, or simply a different light to take new photos there.

In this case, the good light of the afternoon, the shades, the dynamism of the people, and of course the beauty of the monuments and the architecture, were offering me the possibility of trying a good capture.

In WS a different visual angle with the trams in the Square.

Hoy no soy muy creativo, y presento otra imagen tomada en la Praça do Comercio, en Lisboa, un lugar encantador que disfruté varias veces, y donde pude tomar muchas fotos durante la semana que pasé en la ciudad.
Un fotógrafo siempre encuantra alguna cosa, alguna escena, algún ángulo, o simplemente una luz diferente para tomar nuevas fotos allí.

En este caso, la buena luz de la tarde, las sombras, el dinamismo de la gente, y por supuesto la belleza de los monumentos y la arquitectura, me ofercían la posibilidad de intentar una buena toma.

En WS otro ángulo visual con los tranvías en la plaza.

Hola Don Josep!

De nuevo una escena puramente lisboeta, con su encanto bajo esta luz del atardecer, la plaza es de aquellos lugares en que uno puede pasar horas sólo disfrutando del ver pasar a la gente, con sus quehaceres, con sus historias...Un gran momento de color, muy bien aprovechado y que ofrece unos bellos tonos...Muy buena la definción y el encuadre jugando con la escultura ecuestre para compensar la composición...Veo tus fotos y me dan ganas de acercarme a Lisboa...

Il Portogallo è una terra che mi affascina e che prima o poi vorrò visitare.
Questa tua bella foto ci mostra una piazza ripresa in maniera impeccabile, il POV è perfetto e riesce a comprendere sia il monumenti che la porta, la qualitá, la luce ed i colori assolutamente inappuntabili. Un caro abbraccio

Olá Josep,

Este é talvez o principal postal ilustrado de Lisboa.Quando há uns anos a fotografia não era tão praticada por qualquer pessoa, então os turistas compravam cartões postais e este pov era um dos mais vendidos.
O que posso dizer mais, esta fotografia é fantastica e sempre muito bem produzida e com pós-processamento perfeito.

Quando eu fiz um ano no TE postei esta foto do mesmo local, 2007,One year in TE.

nota: em Julho vou passar uma semana pela zona dos Picos da Europa. É uma zona muito bela, tu já visitaste este local?

Hola Josep,
The colourful trams in Lisboa are always a pretty sight but your main picture has a very good depth of field thanks to the statue of José I and the onlookers on the foreground and the monumental Arco Triunfal at the other side of the square.
In the upper right corner we catch even a glimpse of the walls of the Castelo de São Jorge.
The Praça do Comércio is a very colourful square and looks wonderful under the Portuguese blue sky.

Hola Josep.
No hace falta ser siempre creativo, estas hermosas imagenes "postales" como las define mucha gente, son siempre bien recibidas y a todos los que nos gusta viajar, disfrutamos mucho viendo bonitos rincones de pueblos o ciudades.
En este caso la composicion es magnifica, con el bonito monumento y la esplendida puerta, la buena luminosidad de la tarde en este dia radiante, unida al colorido de los edificios, da un precioso cromatismo, igualmente buena perspectiva en la otra foto del WS.
A mi amigo mio como "clasico" la foto me gusta mucho y la disfruto.
Que paseis una buena tarde "primaveral" y un fuerte abrazo para ambos.

Hello Josep,

The horse and the rider's statue look so beautiful on the pedestal with sculptures on all the sides. The metal fence around it protects it from the people touching it. The arched gate behind the statue is beautiful with art work. The colors, lighting and sharpness are superb.

Haha, maybe not specially creative as it is well known view from Lisbon, but excellent postcard. And usually people prefer the things thay know. Sperb shot in beautiful colours.

PS) pas trop présente sur TE, maman est rentrée a l'hôpital aujourd'hui, gros problèmes arthrose bras et genou gauche, j'ai pris son petit chien chez moi, cela ce passe bien avec Jessie, mais je ne les laisse pas seul ensemble, on ne sais jamais!!! je ne sais pas quand maman sortira, tout ce que j'espère c'est qu'elle puisse au moins remarchée.....j'essaye de restée optimiste!!

Bonjour, mon cher ami Josep,
Difficile d'être créatif quant à ce genre de prise de vue. Il n'en demeure pas moins que le cadrage a été réalisé avec soin. Le rendu général valorise l'architecture patrimoniale de la ville.
Une très belle lumière, difficile de faire mieux.

I have to say that both photos are great, this one and the ws photo.
both have tremendous lighting and overall clarity.
in this one, i like how the tall statue is trying to push itself further infront, as if to call attention to itself in a selfish manner :)
for sure a very pleasing photo for the viewer.

Good picture of the square in god light. Indeed this is a picture postcard shot. The tram cars provide another dimension in the WS post. Well balanced composition between the statue & the gate!

Hola Josep,
I know that for some people creativity is the most important but I am in love with high quality postcards.
This is a spectacular capture from Lisbon. I could not see it by myself because it was under construction when I was there. You have captured it at a great light which is so pleasantly warm and created long attractive shades.
The people present add a relaxing touch.

It does looks like a beautiful place to spend an afternoon watching people...my favorite hobby. I like the long shadows which creates depth. Sharp details and wonderful colors. Very well done, tfs.
