Photographer's Note
Altura was a small fishermen village some 50 years ago. When northern Portuguese began discovering the Algarve and its warm waters, construction exploded and some places became chaotic. Although Altura managed to escape the big invasion, it still is nowadays a holiday resort with most of its houses empty 11 months in a year.
Photo was taken on a stormy day, but people still tried to get their beach time.
The little boy was trying to find the courage to brave the waves, and, as he could not decide, his father came along to help him out.
