Photographer's Note
The Azores is swarmed every year by yachts returning from a winter in the Caribbean, mostly cruising boats who cannot comfortably make the jump all the way across. And so a tradition has emerged, of painting your yachts logo, name or whatever on the dock lest you have bad luck on your journey. The whole dock is full of them. Here acrew member is engrossed in leaving her mark.

You came. You saw. You captured.
Made with premeditation. Beautifully composed. No shaky, emotional hands.
Pro stuff.

Very nice photo. Like the focus very much. Brings the eye to the subject immediately. Also i learned something today about something i would not have seen if not for TE. Very good work.

Wonderful illustartion of this tradition. A simple shot, but that did not need much complication in any case, and you managed the DOF perfectly so she is really singled out from the whole scene, but with the myriad other logos umistakably making its mark. Simple, but couild easily fill a page of the natl geo.

The DOF is fantastic, and your POV is very nice, off centre and completely clear. An interesting tradition, really like the thought, it seems no one is 100% confident that this superstition is false. This is a very individual take on street painters, my account features a manual sign writer, working rather than superstitiously painting, but similar. TFS
