Photographer's Note

On a sunny holiday of June I went on a promenade to the older part of Lisboa and to my surprise I found the streets near (cathedral) fully crowded and that huge flag hanging on the façade of the cathedral. I remembered then that I had already heard about how important the festivities of Corpus Christi were in Lisboa and in that day takes place the biggest of Christian processions that are held in the city.

One of the highlights of this and others processions of Lisboa is the participation a military brass band of GNR (the National Guard) whose musicians play riding horses. They claim that they are the only band that plays while galloping. Here you have a link to a low quality video of one of their presentations that I found in youtube.

On the WS's I show two views of the street and the crowd. #1 is more panoramic and on #2 you can see the band I mentioned above.
