Photographer's Note

These amazing ruins are the once famous Botanical Garden Greenhouses- the old unrestored part- the last remaining vestiges of the old and arguably beautiful art nouveau buildings dating from the late 1880s-early 1900 in the style of those in Liege. Now crumbling and somehow still standing and functional (still housing exotic plants) these are to be repaired as soon as funds allow it. Still, the other pavilion has indeed been rebuilt- in a much less classier style reminding of the strictly functional approach so common to post-industrial utilitarian architecture.

The bad light made me try a HDR approach -off-camera as the D40X body is somewhat "lightly loaded".The lens is the 35 mm f1/8 prime AF-G DX and the distortions have been partially corrected off-camera as well.
As for the title, Highly Dangerous Ruin (as it falls apart under our eyes) applies fully.Hope one day to see it restored not removed..this world needs more glass roofs and art nouveau buildings.
