Photographer's Note

One year ago Bucharest's city center was full of all sorts of cow models. Several artists designed different types of cows, which were auctioned in the end for diverse charity projects. This is the only cow left on the streets of Bucharest. It was bought by Petrom, the Romanian oil company, the largest corporation in Romania and the largest gas and oil producer in Southeastern Europe. In 2004 Petrom was privatized by the state and sold to the Austrian oil company OMV. The company operates now, besides Romania, in countries like Serbia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Moldova, Kazakhstan and Iran.
In January 2006, Petrom purchased OMV's operations in Romania, Bulgaria and Serbia and Montenegro. As a result of the transaction, 178 OMV stations operating at the highest standards belong now to Petrom and will continue to operate under the OMV brand. With significant investments of €500 million until 2010 in the Marketing business alone, Petrom will consolidate its leading market position in SEE.
This cow is situated in front of the new building of Petrom and of the Centro bar&lounge.
