Green field of young corn ...

Maize (lat. Zea mays) is a large annual plant native to Central and South America. This plant was first domesticated by natives in southern Mexico about 10,000 years ago. The leafy stem of the plant produces a separate pollen and blooms with seed germs or spikelets, from which corn kernels or seeds develop. It is grown in temperate and warm parts of the world in a large number of subspecies, varieties and cultivars.
Corn has become a staple food in many parts of the world, with a total production that exceeds wheat or rice. Part of the corn production is used as fodder, and part for processing into corn ethanol and other corn products, such as corn starch and corn syrup.
The day started with the sun, the wind brought clouds and rain.
