Badnjak on tree branches
View of a Badnjak tree on a tree branch in an orchard.
Christmas Eve is usually a young oak or cherry tree that is cut down on Christmas Day and brought to the house for Christmas.
After the holidays, Christmas Eve is taken out of the house and placed on the tree for happiness in the new year.
Folk customs in Serbia are beautiful.

Hello Pavle,
For you this represents an old tradition, for the rest of us I think this is a very original photo. The tree is dead and its leaves are dry but it has been brought back for a final rest among its relatives. It sounds like a nice tradition and it is a simple but attractive photo that teaches us something about the world.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Pavle
Old tradition is still well preserved, you've composed and exposed it nicely with excellent surrounding detail and colours holding the picture together. A beautiful presentation and very meaningful guided by your info notes.

Hello Pavle,
Badnjak in translation by Google is "Christmas Eve", some odd name for a tree.
But, I never saw such tree with this explanation to its name.
Looks to me a vinegrape tree.

Ike

Zdravo Pavle,
M
