Photographer's Note
Kozolec - a hay rack - is typical for Slovenia. As in the alpine world summers are short and often wet (not any more so with global warming), farmers needed to put hay somewhere under a roof to get dry. On this picture is a double hay rack, perhaps even more characteristic are the single ones.
The picture was taken in a scattered village, called Martinj vrh, on the slopes above Selska dolina (valley). Notice how steep the meadows are here, so every more flat part of the slope must be used.
