Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
This is a scene from the harbour area of Barcelona.
Again, the wave influence of Gaudi is evident, as the decorative structures rise and fall overhead, like gentle waves travelling along the beach, and are repeated in the curving edge of the quayside.
I found it utterly beautiful and could not understand why I had not found a picture of this amazing place in any of my guide books.
The cuurved walkway leads to the Maremagnum a mixture of shopping mall, waterside restaurants, Imax Cinema and aquarium. A great experience in its own right. We learned that because it is in the tourist zone, it could be open on Sundays!
If you look carefully, in the background, you will see a cable car carrying people up to the Montjuic region.
Thank you for stopping by.
I hope you enjoyed the photograph and begin to share my enthusiasm for this amazing city, Bev :-)

Good Morning Bev!
Indeed we are both fans of this place... I am hoping to visit Barcelona for a week of Gaudi and photo taking around September/October time. You are so lucky!
Wish I was there now!
Nice shot.

Good Morning Bev - They are indeed a collection of elegant curves, even the walkway echoes the shapes. A very neat composition with the placement of the walkway firmly in the RHC, its sweeping lines creating a diagonal across the image. I long to go to Barcelona to see first hand the architecture of this amazing city. Warm regards rosemary
PS Is it any drier in your neck-of-the-woods?

Hello Beverley,
A beautiful view with a more relaxing accent of the busy port of Barcelona and with a pleasant atmosphere.
Beautiful curving lines of the walkway and the structures in a nice diagonal line.
Best regards, Paul

Good morning Bev,
The strong arrangement of metal waves makes the eye sweep through the frame, a very dynamic viweing expertience! And there's enough engaging architectural and natural detail to linger a litte longer. A lovely picture and a fine example of urban revitalization / waterfront development!
And I should return to Barca, the last time I was there was in the early nineties ;-)
Kinde regards from Rotterdam,
Bert

Those waves reminded me of a harp, Beverly, that was my first thought when saw this.
Barcelona is known for it's unique art styles, and surprise is just around any corner.
Fine taken, the people gave a dynamic nice scale.
Good evening,

Hi Bev,
There are many wavy lines in this picture. They are all connected along a good perspective line and there are also many fine details with plenty of people to create interest.
Kind regards

Hello Bev,
Another lovely picture from your Barcelona holiday. An interesting note too - and, like yourself,I'm surprised a few pictures of this area don't appear in any of the guide books - perhaps you whould now write and illustrate your own!
As always, your composition is well thought out and planned, the whole picture being pleasingly balanced and with the lovely sweeping lines of the walkway and the "waves" above it leading the viewer nicely into the distance. Lots of interesting buildings and people to look at too.
Perfect exposure, lovely natural colours and, as always, excellent detail and sharpness.
Excellent!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hi Bev
I do recognize the Hotel way into the bg on the middle left.
Seems like an enjoyable place just to sit around and take in the sunlight and views.
The cable cars are interesting too, I wonder where to lead?
Looking forward to more photo's from Barcelona.
lovely shot.
cheers

Hi Beverley. Barcelona, a city of tradition and modernity. Barcelona, a city of arts and architecture. Truly a beautiful city. Even the harbor area is a specialty. Well seen and realized. Rgds, Wolfgang.

Hi Beverley,
The curves of this waterfront structure create a nice leading line starting in the corner and leading us through the image whilst our eyes are spotting nice details along the way. The little fluffy white clouds add a good dimension to the sky too and we have a real warm weather feeling.
Regards
Wanda
