Photographer's Note
Many times I heard from people telling me about this Running Man in the Ramblas.
He is motionless, but with a super fast executive motion effect.
This man, stays for hours every day in this motion, he is always sorrounded by people, impressed by the originality of his pose.
Different compared with the other ones, he stays in middle of Rambla Street, changing places, you never know where you will find him.
I hope you enjoy the motion!!
Tech: I put background in sepia, and darkened a bit background for contast.
Don't miss the Ramblas Theme .

This is great. Very well done Photoshop work, and it lends itself perfectly to your image. As much as the man, I like the expressions on the people passing by. Good shot!

This is funny! Great desaturation effect... it really highlights this quirky man well. The wave pattern of the street, the bemused onlookers (especially of the old man behind him who doesn't look too pleased) go together really well. And kudos for your notes!

When I saw the picture I really thought this man was moving! There was something odd about him but I couldn't tell until I read your note.
You've captured his movement perfectly :) The 'waves' In the pavement add to the impression of movement.
I like the 'isolation - sepiasation' you used, it's a clever technique, thanks for sharing.

This is classic, David! Your effects really do bring out a sense of motion and speed. Even after reading your description, I was confused and convinced that this running man was a real running man. The sepia effect is more subtle than I would have thought, and works extremely well.

Excellent shoot and subject. I like the tech u used on this pic, it gaves it is total origininality.
How did you do to separate the first plan from the background?

This is facinating! the touch of blur in the background and the monochrome effect conveys the impression that this is no ordinary man. Nice job! - D

This is amazing. The conversion of the background to sepia really works. I wonder if you could post in the tips section how you did this so seamlessly.

You deliver a great feel of motion here, David.
The only disatvatage here for me is rough use of photo-editing software to make background monochrome: edges of the figure is quite crude.
Otherwise very attractive photo, well done.

Excellent job in post-processing David. I, as the others, couldn't quite figure out this one at first (especially that flying tie!). The wave-like pattern in the ground really adds to the shot as well.

Amazing act by this man! I wish I could see that once...
You made a very good picture of it David. The framing fits very well the scene and your composition in Colour & Sepia is very attractive! Great work!

Without your notes, we can get confused with this odd illusion. Congratulations for the framing, the perfect PS work for separation sepia/colors and the expressions catched around this great artist. Your idea of a double coloration works terrific here, as each colorization represents different movement speeds.

This is truly amazing. You captured a great scene, and the PS work just adds to an already perfect photo. Well done!

I really like this shot, it is very artistic and special. I have been looking at since you posted it, but never got around to posting a critique.
I like the looks of the people in the background, the wavy design in the concrete, and the sharp image (nice focus and DOF). My only complaint is the lack of professionalism by the subject, I mean, how could he move his foot like that and live with himself :)
Nice shot!

This one is the best in your Ramblas series. His motion effect is really good. The sepia background and his dark blue color has worked well. The people around also give the running man more sense.

Cool. Why would someone want to stand like this? Very dramatic effect including his facial expressions. Is this a tourist attraction organized by government or private industry? I still couldn't believe how one can balance for long time in that position.

David ,
A very interesting capture indeed. The note actually makes this pic more interesting as it explains the fact.
Through the thumbnail, i just saw a man scurring in the crowd of sepia people.
But this is real stuff here.. kudos to you and the running man.

Hola David
