The gothic at the night, a photo from Barcelona, Catalogne

Photographer's Note

Yes, this is Barcelona at the night.

The day before of take this photo another member of TE talk to me about a "photographic safari in the streets of Barcelona". And just the next day, another friend propose to me make photos at the night in Barcelona.
A fool propose? Perhaps, but I said "yes".

Place? The gothic district, just in the center town.
This street begans just in front of a gate. And through that gate you go to the cloister of the cathedral.
Returning to the street, through this street you arrive to a nice square where still there are marks of bombs when the spanish civil war (1936-39).

And also, with this photo I want greet Miguel (who was here just the day before), Jaume (who talk to me about the "safari") and, of course, Òscar (who propose make photos that night).
And also with this photo I want say "welcome to Barcelona".

Only add that I used a tripod and that I wanted have someone in the photo. Finally I get what I wanted.

I like it very much, I find the street which I know. people sitting with the background would not have is enough sufficiently to give heart to the photograph. the silhouette of the pedestrian arrived at the good moment. may be the light of the standard lamp is a little strong.

hola carlos, this is an amazing image; i too some shots like this (not as goos as this one :-(( a month ago in tenerife which i'll post later;
i like the emptiness of this dark corner, with just tiny figures in the far end of the street; very very nice work;

me encanta la fotografía nocturna y en esta lo has conseguido! con el suelo mojado y la poca luz que hay hace un refleyo muy bonito. Me gusta ver que la zona del fondo iluminada y bien cogida. Lo complicado, ya lo ves tu, fué esta lámpara de la derecha aparece un pelín sobreexpuesta, pero creo que te ha salido fenomenal.
Este es uno de los rincones que más me gustan del Barrio Gótico, lo he fotografiado varias veces, pero nunca de noche... a ver si me animo un día.

Vaya, vaya... Pues ten cuidado que la noche hay monstruos por las calles... Vale, al grano, la foto esta muuuuy bien, quizá le hubiera cerrado un poco el plano para evitar la ventana que se empieza a ver por arriba y de paso algo de la zona negra en la esquina inferior derecha, así como el cierre del comercio de la izquierda... Con todo esto no hablo más que de un personal ajuste fino, o sea que no me hagas mucho caso. Me gusta la figura medio movida por la larga exposición. Bueno que acepto los Greetings y que no me importaría nada organizar el safari nocturno por Barcelona, yo me apunto si puedo.
Pd: Ve al cine a ver "Wilby wonderful" ¿Te lo había dicho ya? Películita pequeña pero de muy buen rollo.

A truly gothic shot in a gothic place, with the "ghost" walking under the arch. I like the light reflecting on the wet cobbles. The black and gold colours really give an eerie atmosphere. Well done

I like this photo very much... it's misitcal, and very atmospherical...
well it's many like some of my friends were telling me about how certain parts of this, by their words, amazing city looks out at night... some places are very crowded and some quite dark and misterious...
also one really nice thing about this photo is the wet floor...

Me gusta, es exactamente lo que recuerdo de las noches por esas calles angostas de piedra en sus suelos y en sus paredes. Buena foto nocturna con gente en movimiento y gente quieta.

Me encanta pasearme por el barrio gotico y ir a un bar de vinos que se encuentra en la plaza santa maria del mar, bueno y muchos otros lugares, una ciudad preciosa. Seguramente ire a pasar las fiestas de fin de año por Hay, si se concretiza te lo dire.
La foto muy buena, un ambite fantastico y me encanta la persona andando.

I like the movement of the figure which has been captured in prime positiion in this image. The blurr adds a hint of mystery to the scene. You have captured a good scene in what is a lovely area of Barcelona.

Hola Carlos, viví unos años en Barcelona y aún recuerdo mis paseos por el barrio gótico, la foto me ha encantado tiene las luces y las sombras que tanto me gusta y el sabor de la vieja Barcelona.

fine nightshot with good exposure and natural colors. The b&w is great too, but the colors give more atmosphere.

Felicidades por el rincón escogido y por el ambiente medieval que has logrado reflejar perfectamente. Sólo las chicas sentadas al portal de San Felipe Neri nos indican que la foto es actual.
Aunque Barcelona ya va "sobrada", una foto así "vende" más que las Ramblas.
Por cierto, en la pared del fondo se aprecian perfectamente los impactos de las bombas de la guerra civil, cosa que quizá no queda clara del todo en tu comentario.

Great composition. I love how the light reflects off the stones in the street, and I like that there are dark areas which makes it more mysterious. Great night shot.

Repasando la galería he encontrado esta foto nocturna tuya.
La luz amarillenta y las sombras crean un ambiente misterioso. El suelo mojado también le proporciona unos reflejos muy bonitos.
En resumen, me gusta.
