Photographer's Note

Hi TE-friends and welcome for the weekend.

In my last post of this week, I'd like to go on with the "People in Barcelona" series.

This shot was also taken in the Plaza Universitat and this asian boy was going to the underground when suddenly, had a terrible doubt: Should I go on foot or by electric stairs? I liked his facial expression and I thought It could be nice picture for sharing with us.

Hi Sergio,
Interesting portrait like capture, seems like he is thoughtful... what might be on his mind? Maybe BFCs match this week-end?
Well use of DOF, as we still see the street life in the back but not in a disturbing way...

Sobre la foto...una careto impresionante. No se si dudaba o estaba sobado el chavalote...

Hola Sergio.
Otra buena foto en blanco y negro, el joven esta muy bien captado aunque con los ojos cerrados, pero lo que mas me gusta de la foto es la actividad diaria que vemos detras en las calles de Barcelona. Muy buen DOF.
Aun estoy tratando de recuperar mis fotos, aqui luchando con tecnicos. Copia todas tus fotos en DVD o CD para que no tengas la mala experiencia por la que estoy pasando.

Hola Sergio, all those choices we have to make on daily basis ;-). Very good capture with good definition, a full set of grey tones and a nicely shallowish DoF. Good streetcapture, well captured!

You are right about sharing with us this image. Very good note and I agree with you. Good timing and very funny expression of doubt. I like the urban scene in the background although it's a bit noisy for the portrait, specially on his head. Very good work though! You continue with the B&W and that's a good choice.

There are some nice light/shade contrasts here and you captured him with an odd look on his face; maybe he just didn't want to be photographed. I think, like your previous post a crop, this time on the left may have been worth considering. I'll try it see what it looks like.

Hi Sergio, What a catch of the expression. I guess that he was trying to avoid your camera while showing this special gesture. A nice and daring shot with excellent outcome.

Pasa lo mismo que en la foto anterior, y además tiene los mismos problemas de iluminación.
Buen intento, pero mejorable.
Disculpa por la sonrisa, pero creo que sirve para recordar que puedes hacerlo mejor (me acabo de acordar: en los próximos pondré la foto que quieres que ponga).

Hi Sergio,
Taking good photos of people as they go about their daily business is an art in itself. I have never been much good at it but your photo is well composed and well timed. I also like that you've presented it in black and white because it creates a different type of feel when compared to the same pic in colour.
