La cathédrale de Gérone possède la plus large nef gothique au monde. Le projet faisait état de trois nefs, mais en voulant réduire le bâtiment à une nef unique, les travaux furent suspendus à cause d'une discussion houleuse qui dura 50 ans.
Pour arriver jusqu'au portail principal, on monte le long d'un grand perron de la fin du XVIIe siècle. La façade principale est baroque, tandis que le cloître est du XIIe siècle, la tour clocher du XIe et le reste de l'édifice du XIVe.
Le cloître, de grandes dimensions est de forme trapézoïdale. Il a été dessiné en fonction des remparts contre lesquels il est adossé. À l'intérieur, œuvres de grande valeur et d'une rare beauté. Le retable du maître-autel en argent, les émaux et pierreries, constituent l'un des joyaux de l'orfèvrerie espagnole.Les chapiteaux du cloître représentent des scènes de l'Ancien et du Nouveau Testament. La tapisserie de la Création est une importante pièce romane. Admirer aussi un « Beato de Liébana ».

The Gerona Cathedral has the widest Gothic nave in the world. It was designed with three naves, but the prospect of a single nave caused work on it to be suspended and an argument that lasted 50 years.
To reach the main front, you must go up a large staircase from the late 17th century. The main façade is Baroque, while the cloister is from the 12th century, the bell tower is from the 11th and the rest of the building is from the 14th century.
The cloister is large with a trapezoidal plan that is dictated by the wall to which it is adjoined. There are works of great beauty and value on the inside. The high altar reredos made of silver, enamel and precious stones is one of the jewels of Spanish precious metalwork. The capitals of the cloister have scenes from the Old and New Testaments. The tapestry of the Creation is an important piece of Romanesque tapestry making. There is also a Beato de Liébana.

Very Nice perspective. The light and focus are great. I really like the light coming through the arches it adds much more to the photo especially in b&w. Nice job.

J aime bien le POV en contre plongee et cette symetrie donnant un bon impact graphique.
La lumiere est bien controlee, bien qu un peu forte sur la gauche...le noir et blanc convient parfaitement a cette image... ce sont des tombes sur le sol, je crois?

Un angle original avec cet angle formé par le cloitre sur ta photo, bonne idée de présentation, le N&B convient bien à cette vue pour valoriser l'architecture.

superbe cloître !
Excellent POV : très graphique, qui donne à ce vieil édifice un air de modernité.
Le choix du noir etblanc est encoreune fois bien vu car il renforce le graphisme et surtout magnifie la lumière.
On sent bien toute la sérénité de l'endroit.

Bonjour Marc,
J'aime beaucoup cette composition. CE cadrage en fléche est très original. La lumière est magnifique et le traitement n&b renforce encoe son rendu. Je regrette just de ne pas avoir la pointe de l'angle en bas, mais tu n'avais peut-être pas le choix car le recul n'est pas extensible.
