Photographer's Note

The picture was taken during a visit to Bilbao, which due to ETA, terrorism and its industrial past does not have the best of reputations. What I found was the opposite of what is often depicted, and one of the friendliest and liveliest cities which I have been to. Despite the Guggenheim museum the city offers an array of architectural gems such as The Bridge Of Viscaya (more commonly known as Puente Colgante).

The bridge is the worlds oldest trapsorter bridges and was built by, Alberto Palacio, a disciple of Gustave Eiffel in 1893.

The brige was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO on the 13th of July 2006.
