The Tower of Alminar, is the minaret of the Mosque of Cordoba, which was used to summon the faithful to prayer, has a Baroque bell tower and visitors can climb to the top to enjoy a panoramic view of the city and beyond.
Known only as the Mosque of Cordoba or Cathedral of Cordoba, is located in the city of Cordoba region of Andalusia in Spain. Date of the tenth century, when the city of Córdoba reached its apogee under the rule of Emir Abderramão III.
At that time Cordoba was the most prosperous city in Europe, eclipsing Byzantium and Baghdad in the sciences, culture and arts. By this time it was also the most populated city in the world. The Cathedral is an example of the fusion between the Christian and Islamic culture. The Mosque of Cordoba was built by Adul Rahama I in 780
