Photographer's Note

Here you have one of the icons of Madrid: The Communication's Palace. It mainly works as a Central Post Office now, but in the following months it's going to be restored to be used as the new Town Hall.

This magnificent building was built between 1904 and 1919 in Cibeles Square. Antonio Palacios was the one who made it possible. This Galician architect is considered to be the greatest architect of modern Madrid. He was the designer of many of the buildings that can be seen in "Gran Via" and "Alcalá" streets and was the designer as well of many palaces, office buildings and metro stations.

By that time this particular building was baptized "Madrid's Cathedral", due to its huge dimensions and to its shape. On the left (at the end) Alcala's Gate can be seen.
