Photographer's Note

One of our countryside neighbors has an old farm near a little stream. The building here is there old washing house. Their great grand parents used a large kettle, heated with fire, to get hot water for washing. The rinsing was made in the stream. Today it looks cute, but it was hard work for the women who took care of it.
The washing machine was invented by the the religious sect the Shakers in New England, and was a great relief to millions of women.

Hello Goran,
interesting place and nice quality picture. I like the soft effect you achieved in this photo and very delicate light which adds very much to it. The composition has been nicely planned with the old hut standing out from its surroundings and the trees and river completing the image. Good colors with slightly pastel tones which go with the whole character of the photo.

Hello Goran,

This is a beautiful shot of fine composition, good light management and sensitivity. If this had been over sharpened, it would have immediately lost the mood, the tranquillity.
I must admit, I prefer the washing machine, no matter how romantic this place may appear!!

bra not, under vintern kan det inte ha varit så spännande att hålla på med tvätten. Kan nästan inte
föreställa mig kylan från vattnet i ån, man har ju också hört hur de sågade upp vakar i isen..brr! Stämningsfullt foto med den lilla röda stugan och ljuset som faller in mjukt och vackert. Ån och den begynnande grönskan ger en behaglig stämning. Snyggt!

En mycket vacker bild med detta supersvenska motiv. En röd knuttimrad stuga nere vid sjön. Ja, där vill jag bo... Också en intressant not, det är nog inte så många som egentligen längtar till baka till den här typen av "tvättmaskin".

Once upon a time.. those were the days! A well composed image by the river in beautiful light and rich colors filled with sense of tranquility as the colour popping old farm house is well set off in the setting. I love the catch light and play of shadows. Good technical quality and lovely composition and depth, excellent description too. Well done.
