Walking around Gamla Stan, where I can find various kinds of shops of all kinds, in the largest number of handicrafts, decorations and tourist souvenirs, I really like this showcase and can not leave without attracting my camera.

Gamla Stan, the old town is actually the original urban center of Stockholm and includes the island of Stadsholmen, as well as the islets of Riddarholmen, Helgeandsholmen and Strömsborg. Its origin dates back to the 13th century, although most of the buildings date from the 1700s to the 1800s. It is a magnificent labyrinth of charming cobbled streets, avenues, manor houses and meeting places that reflect an undeniable architectural style typical of the north of Germany.

The main square of Stortorget is undoubtedly the center of the old town and is situated close to the main attractions on the island. Also worth a visit are the Royal Palace (Kungliga Slottet); Of baroque style and the Royal Chapel (Storkyrkan); Located around the corner and where in June 2010 was held the wedding between Princess Victoria, Heiress to the throne of Sweden and his fiance Daniel Westling.

Today, the old town is home to 3,000 people, as well as being an impressive meeting place full of cafes, restaurants, souvenir shops for tourists, studios, galleries and museums; Among which we can mention the Nobel Museum, Post Office Museum and the Royal Numismatic Office housed in the National Museum of Economics.

It is hard to imagine that the old town was once considered the poor and marginal area of Stockholm (between the mid-nineteenth and twentieth centuries) when it is now a particularly coveted place of residence.

Paseando por Gamla Stan, donde podemos encontrar multitus de tiendas de todo tipo, en mayor numero artículos de regado, decoración y recuerdos turísticos, me gusto mucho este escaparate y no puede irme sin captarle con mi cámara.

Gamla Stan, el casco antiguo es en realidad el centro urbano original de Estocolmo e incluye la isla de Stadsholmen, así como los islotes de Riddarholmen, Helgeandsholmen y Strömsborg. Su origen se remonta al siglo XIII, aunque la mayoría de los edificios datan de entre el 1700 y el 1800. Es un magnífico laberinto de encantadoras calles adoquinadas, avenidas, casas señoriales y plazas de encuentro que reflejan un indiscutible estilo arquitectónico propio del norte de Alemania.

La plaza mayor de Stortorget es sin duda el centro del casco antiguo y está situada cerca de las principales atracciones existentes en la isla. También son dignos de una visita el Palacio Real (Kungliga Slottet); de estilo barroco y la Capilla Real (Storkyrkan); situada a la vuelta de la esquina y donde en junio de 2010 se celebró la boda entre la Princesa Victoria; heredera al trono de Suecia y su prometido Daniel Westling.

Hoy en día, el casco antiguo es la residencia de unas 3.000 personas, además de ser un impresionante lugar de encuentro repleto de cafeterías, restaurantes, tiendas de suvenires para turistas, estudios, galerías y museos; entre los que cabe mencionar el Museo Nobel, Museo de Correos y la Oficina Numismática Real albergada en el Museo Nacional de Economía.

Cuesta trabajo imaginarse que el casco antiguo de la ciudad estuviera considerado en otros tiempos la zona pobre y marginal de Estocolmo (entre mediados de los siglos XIX y XX) cuando ahora es un lugar de residencia especialmente codiciado.
