Photographer's Note

There are about 12 000 electric kickbikes in Stockholm, and the number is reported to be rapidly increasing. Walking the streets of the city I get an impression that a substantial number of them are found parked or lying across pavements, outside houses' front doors, just below staircases or even lying in the streets.

The electric kickbikes are probably perfect for a ride through the city when you are in a hurry. They don't pollute, they are silent and convenient and probably much cheaper than a bus or metro ride, and indeed a taxi.

But is it really impossible to leave them neatly, close to a wall? I have seen blind people and persons in wheelchairs having trouble with electric kickbikes blocking thir movements.

This is from one of the cobbled streets on the heights of Södermalm island overlooking central Stockholm. The persons seen here have nothing to do with the bikes.
