Photographer's Note
Mallard (Anas Platyrhynchos)
I found this beauty eating grass in my garden. First, she was willing to pose for me, that was until she discovered that I was way too big for her to eat. This resulted in an angry “Quack!” before she flew away... nevertheless; I still managed to capture this :-)
I have used a clone brush to remove some grass that was in the way. Then I increased the contrast and saturation + lowered the brightness... Finished it with an unsharp mask.

I think this is a very nice shot of our common mallard. I like the low angle you have here with the unsharp grass in the foreground. The exposure and sharpnes is great and though the background is not as blurred as it could be, it is not in any way distracting.
I think she is watching you here, uncertain of your motives she looks ready to leap. Very pretty, great shot.
