Photographer's Note

Brienz-Rothorn-Bahn is a rack railway that has transported tourists to the top of Rothorn mountain since 1892.
Unlike almost every other railway in Switzerland, this one was never electrified. Use of steam was probably considered as an extra interest to the tourists. The engine in picture doesn't however have much nostalgic value as it was actually built in 1990's.

This is very good, Kari, you were just in time to capture this nostalgic train amid the green scenery, very good POV and crop.

I really like the composition here, with the track angling across the screen and the bit of sky showing (though it's too bad the sky is not blue or defined by clouds). the colours are superb, your DOF is excellent. All in all an excellent shot. TFS

Ah here they come the Swissies, lovely composition with this modern Oldie going uphill on the snaky perspective tracing track, the light leaves you a bit down, but I understand it was not an option to stop this train a few hours until the light gets optimal ;-)

Nice composition with pretty few colours.
I like the presence of only a few tourists in the train. Switzerland is nicer when you don't have to share your views with many others.

Hi Kari,
It almost doesn't seem real, seen from here,...as if it was a toy for the kids. I like this avantage POV and your composition resulted in a very beautiful image, with the diagonal, coming right from the corner. It seems a very funny trip and the surrounding greenery is quite attractive.
