Photographer's Note
This series of photographs is offering a short journey around Switzerland, a landlocked country geographically divided between the Alps, the Swiss Plateau and the Jura, bordering with France, Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein and Italy.
Switzerland (the Swiss Confederation) consists of following 20 cantons (states) and 6 half-cantons: Aargau, Appenzell Ausserhoden*, Appenzell Innerhoden*, Basel Landschaft*, Basel Stadt*, Bern, Fribourg, Geneva, Glarus, Graubünden, Jura, Lucerne, Neuchatel, Nidwalden*, Obwalden*, Schaffhausen, Schwyz, Solothurn, St. Gallen, Thurgau, Ticino, Uri, Valais, Vaud, Zug and Zurich (*=half-canton).
From each canton I’ll post 2 photos and from each half-canton 1 photo, total 46 photographs.
Basel Landschaft
The historic Canton of Basel was divided in 1833. The result of this division was creation of two half cantons: Basel Stadt and Basel Landschaft.
Canton Basel Landschaft lies in the north of Switzerland. The Jura Mountain chain traverse the canton. The canton Basel Landschaft shares borders with canton Basel Stadt, canton Solothurn, canton Jura, canton Aargau, France (région of Alsace) and Germany (state of Baden-Wurtenberg). The capital city is Liestal.
This photo shows a center of old Laufen town. In the background the Christian-Catholic Church of St. Katharina.
This church is listed as a Swiss heritage site of national significance. The entire old city of Laufen in part of the Inventory of Swiss Heritage Sites.
Laufen is situated around 20km southwest from City of Basel.

Hello Miro,
A very picturesque street with the light coloured facades and even more with the entrance gate to the street and the tower of the church.
The forested hill behind the church makes an excellent backdrop and the inclusion of the fountain on the foreground is a good idea.
Best regards, Paul

ciao Miro,
mi piace questo angolo caratteristico con la strada che porta all'arco sullo sfondo.
Case basse, a misura d'uomo, in un ambito invidiabile,
saluti

Ciao Miro
sembra un villaggio molto tranquillo, sicuramente storico e carino.
Bella la fontana e la torre con la porta sullo sfondo.

I like those architectures. Nicely captured with good lighting and dof with sharp details. Nice to see the person walking for sense of proportion. Well done, tfs.

Hello Miro.
After a few days of vacation for Euskadi, I'm new in these pages.
A wonderful composition of this beautiful and quiet corner, magnifies the depth of field of this street, with the image of the gate and tower in the background.
A good management of light and colorful soft and nice. Well done.
Best regards.
Luis.

Hello Miro!
What a lovely street!
What a beautiful picture!
Was it early in the morning? It's so empty!
Sharpness, exposure, colors, chosen pov, horizontal format and composition really pleased me here too!
TFS - congrats,
Cheers,

Hi Miro,
The distance between the fountain and the bell tower is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the architecture of the buildings. The early evening light is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Miro
I have the impression of a sunday-morning picture, given the quietness in town that allows the great leisure of strolling by those magnificent exotic buildings adorned of pastel colors, featuring the church as dead end.
Cheers.
