great shot. very interesting subject. the composition is good - i know the hill is angled that way, but maybe tilt it a little to straighten it out? i don't know maybe it wouldn't look as good that way, just a thought. Did you us a filter to get the sun rays perfect like that? they are great. the snow looks great too. nice work...I wish it were mine!

Excellent photo! Did the angle of the light cause that sparkle in thhe snow? Great job to keep the sky color from blowing out.

Espectacular shot, what a light, a shinning, and the long tree shadows more the perspective are giving a very impressive effect.
If I had a chance I would take another shot only of the tree.
Congtrats!!

This is just great! It is soo nice to see original work on this site again. I love everything about this picture; the deep blue sky, the texture and sparkle of morning snow, the shape and line of the shadow reaching out to us, the perfect solar flare hanging from the tree like some strange fruit and the line of smaller, dimunitive trees who all want to be as special as the one on the far right.

Wow - what a capture - Amazing how the shadows adds 3D effects to this photo. The slope which gives fine shadows in the surface of the snow also great - very well done - And finally the reflections from the sun, the dark trees and the blue sky .. I must stop now - congratulation.

Beautiful shot! Very well composed, nice capture of shades and sparkles on the snow. Also great idea to use the tree to "tone down" the strength of the sun. It probably would not have worked any other way. Great eye!

BRAVO !

I have had seen many snowscaped sceneries but this one, has a lot less visual of the snow but more on the effect of light and shadow on a snow landscape. The dark blue sky with the line of trees and the glare really pull and attract viewer to this photo. And is that sparklings on the snow?

Bravo l'artiste.

Ahh. I like your photos with trees very much. They bring out the beauty and mistery of them. I feel desperate to look out of the window and wait for snow and a brilliant day. (5 minutes later) Eh yeah, I have to wait for at least 3 month to see snow here. :-(

Wonderful shot Vincent, remarkable texture visible in the snow. Love the shadows of the trees as they stretch over the slow. This should could work well as a monochroms also.

Vincent, This picture is truly from your skill rather than the beautiful nature. Yes, the scenario helped you get that but I guess your timing and placing of the sun behind a tree all created that shadow and sparkles across the picture. Very sharp, clear and beautifull exposed. I don't see the EXIF data. Care to share that here? I would like to know your exposure time.
