Hello Roland,
I think you choose the right place for the horizon on the picture just above the middle.
There is just enough snow to create the perfect distance in the scene of the farmhouse and the trees.
They are a lovely grey line between the white of the snow and the blue of the sky.

Très belle scene hivernal du Jura Suisse. Bonne composition avec la grand plaine de neige en premier plan et le horizon avec ses arbres et la vielle ferme sous un ciel sublime.

Ce large avant plan donne de la profondeur à l'image et renforce l'impression de belle couche de neige, bien aussi le détail de la trace sur cette surface par ailleurs immaculée.

The foreground with the virgin snow carpet is very nice.
Also the trees and farm are a lovely addition...
Create a lovely nature picture .
Nice depth and perspective.

You are right. The horizon with the naked trees is beautiful. Besides that I like the shadow right in the middle. It'makes me curious where it's from. Just a tree?

Hello Roland,

A very attractive winter's scene, where the tiny footprints add a a little scenario, as well as a good lead line.
You have used the rule of thirds very nicely in your composition, placing the line of trees strongly on the hilltop, against the sky.

This makes a very strong b&w photograph.
Just try it!
