Photographer's Note
Probably the most distinctive feature of Rhätische Bahn railway is the Landwasser Viaduct just north of Filisur. It's a stone arch bridge with internal steel structure, built in 1902. It rises 65 m above the Landwasser river and it's 135 m curve exits straight into a tunnel.
Shot within seconds of the my previous shot, this time towards the back of the train. For best view sit on the right side of a southbound train. And note that you can't open windows of the air conditioned first class panorama cars that you see closer to the mountain face.
(See here for an overall view of the bridge.)

Hi Kari,
GOOD WORK! Excellent timing.
The point of view is stunning and I like to see the 3 arches, certainly the "pillars" of this composition... :-P)
Just when the train plunge into the tunnel, you immortalize the moment. Swiss red couldn't be a more appropriate colour to liven up the rocky grey background. Greay perspective effect.
Cheers!

Hi Kari
There is wonderful oval feeling to this shot - the bright train leads in and then the drab rocks bring the eye right back to the rail-side railing and the ever-larger arches. What a superb perspective.
Thanks, Casper

Kari,
great and valuable moment of capture with the RED and WHITE (quite swiss, huh?) cars coming out of the tunnel. The Landwasser brigde arches in the lower portion gives the right idea were you where at the moment of shot.

Even more dynamic than the previous one. I love the fact that the engine is just going into the tunnel. I can just see you dashing around the train to get the best shots ;D Well done

Congratulations! You have shot at the right moment, what is very difficult on a train. Thank you for the interesting comment.

Hi Kari,
It's amazing how they built this bridge right into the rock it is quite a feat. The red train stands out from the grey rock very well, and you chose a good moment to capture it as it goes into the tunnel.

Here you show the modern more swiss aprt, but as I told you I prefer the vintage part, I see you got a strategic position to get the most out of your trip !

Hi Kari. Both the shots that you have posted from this train are interesting photographs, but I like the composition of this one better with the carriages disappearing into the mountain (although I realise they are actually coming out of the mountain). The contrast between the red train and the grey rockface gives this image a lot of impact. Cheers . . . David

hello, kari
wow, a really nice zug-zug (i know you're a big fan) photo... nice lead-in, colors and smart composition. as to colors: from the thumbnail, i almost thought it was a partially desaturated photo. now i see, it isn't :) very nice muted background colors for this train portrait. good work!
