Photographer's Note

Hello Everyone,

This is the pretty church of Saint John the Evangelist, at Waterbeach. (Evangelist means one of the four disciples who wrote the gospels.)

St John the Evangelist, is the oldest building in Waterbeach. There are some surviving Norman features which indicate that its origins were late 12th century although in general the architecture is Early English and Perpendicular. Much restoration and reconstruction has taken place over the centuries and is continuing to this day.

I brightened the church a little as it was in a shady area.

As a workshop, I will add a closer view of the clock tower.

Thank you for your interest, Bev :-)
