The Rally Begins, a photo from Lancashire, England

Photographer's Note

Hello Everyone,

I did promise more photographs from the Charity Tractor Rally so, here they are.

The rally is quite a big event in our village, raising money for the volunteer projects of the Community Centre and Trawden-In-Bloom, a flower planting initiative in the village.

I found it difficult to decide the order. I know some people enjoy seeing action, whilst others prefer to see the details of the vehicles. Anyway, here is the rally beginning from the yard, whilst in my workshops you will find some more detailed close-ups of the tractors.

You have captured well a daily life scene. The point of view is showing the details of the tractor. The loight is giving good colors rendering. Have a nice day.

Hello Bev,

I van almost the sound of the tractor hear, also the smell of the exhaust pipe.
It seems a very well maintain tractor.
Also the tires are almost new.
The WS image with the oldest engine, it seems that this also still work.
You placed the tractor nice in corner, we see the people nice if visitors to the event.
An excellent presentation.

Hello Bev,
Action, definitely! ;-) There should be no doubt what kind of photos I prefer from an event like this concerning vehicles running along the streets. This red tractor is a beauty in the foreground, well timed as it is entering the street and catching the eyes of the bystanders. There is a natural diagonal separating the audience (standing in the sun) from the focus of attention still in the shade. Having said all this I should add that both WS are quite fascinating too, even without any action. It's amazing that such old and highly picturesque tractors are still around and maybe also can be driven.

Hi Bev,
You captured this on the right moment just when the first tractor (I assume) enters the road. Good to see spectators too. Bright red well kept tractor is well visible even though it is in the shadow.

Look like big boy's toys!! The driver's position is spot on, a fine backdrop for the shot and good people interaction to make it more attractive. It must have been a very fun day documenting the occasion with three excellent images, fine colours & clarity...

Excellent photo of the start of the rally with the tractor just turning onto the road. The photo is well balanced with the spectators standing on the other side of the road in the sun. Well done.

I tried to spot whether Len will drive one of them but I think he is in the audience behind. Nice action scene indeed with the very well colored tractor entering the scene while people watching it with excitement and with phones in their hands.

Wow, seems like the speed is unimaginable at this rally. :) Otherwise, its a well-composed photo. The red tractor creates a god counter-point against the brown(ish) surrounding. The placing of your copyright also deserves a positive comment.

I never thought of racing tractors. Around here, we have what they call "tractor pulls." Tractors pull a chain in opposite directions to see who will win and who will be pulled.
I like all three photos.
