Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
This photograph was taken in our garden.
We had been doing some weeding and alterations and whilst we stopped to have a drink, this female blackbird popped down to investigate.
I'm not quite sure what she found that was tasty, it looks like an insect egg. She quickly flew away with her prize!
Birds are a great help, removing things from the garden that could become a nuisance.
I wish you a lovely weekend, Bev :-)

Hello Beverley,
Close encounter with a blackbird, a specie we rarely see in Israel. Beautiful close range picture, superbly presented.
Wish you a nice weekend,
Ike
*** By the way, all of Isreal's coastline on the Mediterranean has sandy beaches - only 170km long, small country, yet some are even more beautiful than Herzliya. Thanks.

Hello Bev,
You were very quick to capture the bird before she flew away to enjoy her snack without disturbance. The white tidbit may be small but it is a very eye-catching part of the photo. It's an impressive picture, but it's just as impressive that you carry your Nikon with you even when working in your garden.
Have a nice weekend,
Gert

Hello Beverley, I love it when the birds come down after we have finished gardening. Some of them are surprisingly tame, and provided that we stay still or move very slowly, they continue their search for food.
A lovely shot. The sunlight illuminates the colour and pattern of the female blackbirds feathers.
Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hi Bev,
The bird is well placed in the frame. The point of view is showing the details of the Blackbird. The light is bringing out the beauty of the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Bev,
I find always very pleasant when I work in my garden, the blackbird are this so ordinary, she remain look to worms.
Try to tame them they will eat out of your hand later
I try this with young blackbirds, but the cats see this too and they are enemies.
Also excellent close up picture.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice weekend,
John

Hello Beverley,
An excellent and sharp portrait of this blackbird with this small round white thing in her orange beak. Good clarity thanks to the fine sunlight.

Hello Beverley,
The photo was taken in a month when there were still treats for birds in the garden.
When you work in the garden and dig up some soil, birds hope to find an earthworm among it.
In winter, robins can therefore come close and they are certainly present in your garden.
Excellent sharp capture from close by.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Bev
Cute in England but an absolute pest here where they don't belong as they out compete many of our native birds.
A good photo of the bird gathering food.
cheers

Hi Bev,
Some birds are leaving in the garden things which can become a nuissance ha ha
Great wild life capture here, the light was fantastic the level of the contrast makes it feel so realistic. Clear and sharp.
The bird is crystal clear. The pattern on the belly also indicate it is a juvenile bird.
Very well done,
M

Hi Bev
You know how much I love garden birds! :-) Female blackbirds are an underestimated but really charming photo subject.
It always amazes me how quickly birds notice these little feeding opportunities and how easily they distinguish food from other objects.
Best wishes
Kasia

bev
looks a small egg of a gecko, but I am not sure if you have this in UK. a nice moment, the bird is nicely show in the image. few weeks ago I was cleaning my kitchen garden and I discovered a big nest of rats, but my cats weren't fast enough to kill no one.
take care

Hello Bev, Very nice view of Mrs. Blackbird. We had in our garden the Blcjbird's nest on the pergola and it was such a joy to see Mr B. jumping on the grass looking for the delicacies for the hungry beaks (we haven't seen them, but we heard). we haven't observed any youngsters. Lovely picture.
Best regards MAlgo

Hello Beverley,
Good timing to catch this fast moving bird. Excellent sharpness and I have often noticed birds take a keen interest after mowing the lawn or gardening or in wet weather when underground creatures and insects are forced to the surface by water. Tfs!
