Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
My photograph shows the remains of an old mill chimney which used to be part of a thriving mill. The mill has long ceased to be operational but the chimney has been retained as part of the heritage of the village.
In my lifetime there were five working mills in the village but how times change. There are none now.
The chimney would not really be considered an attractive, sculptural feature (though it creates strong memories) but when placed amid the suspended, yellow flowers of the laburnum tree it suddenly looks a dramatic feature.
Hence my title - 'In the Right Setting'!
I will add a workshop showing more of the setting for this chimney.
I wish you a happy week, Bev :-)

The old mill chimney was adorned in this picture with the beautiful green and yellow vegetation, Beverley.
A piece of history to the five mills in Trawden from long ago.
Have a nice new week,
Ike

Hi Bev
A very well framed image. Not surprising how nature can make the most mundane objects attractive. Our industrial herritage needs to be preserved!

Hello Bev,
The chimney is not really beautiful, but it is a kind of cultural heritage and gives a strong accent to the background of this photo. It makes a good complement to the beauty of the yellow and green trees, and also to the lines of the gate. Three very different elements work very nicely together in the fine light. In the WS the chimney looks mainly funny as it seems to be rising from the roof of the building.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Beverley
The yellow flowering free is a great addition here and contrasts well with the blue sky. It also frames the bg chimney stack well. Tfs!

bev
the chimney looks like a monument. I liked the combination with the yellow flowers of this tree. in my town, most of the old structures were made in timber and were lost, a pity when local history lost its landmarks.
take care

Hello Beverley,
A photo taken on such a beautiful and sunny day. The chimney is well included in the left hand side. The green and yellow leaves and flowers of the trees add a nice frame around it as well.

Hi Bev,
Very good use of the chimney, I like the flowers in the foreground. It made me think about my recent visit to Alnwick Garden where they have the Poison Garden with all toxic plants on display, some even in a caghe. I think this yellow blooming tree was there but I don't remember which part to use and what it is doing to you..
Lovely composition,
M

Hi Bev.
A simple composition, but when you have a good eye and taste to see the frames, beautiful images like this are obtained, separately the fireplace or the tree would not tell us anything, but with this cascade of flowers that seems to surround the fireplace, and even the fence is an ideal set.
You have also shown me a tree that I did not know, the laburnum that is a true beauty.
A magnificent color that gives a lot of chromatic richness to the image.
Very good management of lighting and sharpness.
Well done. I like it.
I wish you a pleasant week.
Very best regards.
Luis.
