Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
I have posted this photograph to show what amazing contrasting textures and colours can be found on one flower.
This is an anthurium.
Anthurium is a genus of about 1,000 species of flowering plants, the largest genus of the arum family, Araceae. General common names include anthurium, tailflower, flamingo flower, and laceleaf.
This particular flower is a laceleaf but, as you may imagine, it has ruder common names! 😆
I wish you a happy new week, Bev :-)

Hi Bev,
Interestingly I just know it in Polish as anthurium, I don't think we have any additional names for it.
It is quite an extraordinary flower with the flower being in a shape of a leaf.
Nice capture, it looks as if it was on a table?

Hi Bev, Hopefully, it will survive on TE :). Nice photo of this flower that in Polish is called mother-in-law's tongue. Here it has a bit of strange colour.
Will I see it in its natural environment? I hope so.
Best regards MAlgo

Hello Bev,
I am not familiar with this flower, which looks quite peculiar in its texture and shapes. The contrasts of green and red/orange makes it quite eye-catching.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Bev,
The tight frame is putting the flowers in evidence. The point of view is showing the details of the anthurium flowers. The light is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Ciao Bev,a flower that has always intrigued me because as a child I thought it was plastic, I also remember the endless greenhouses of these potted plants ready for shipment in Santo Domingo, a beautiful macro that allows you to observe lines and colors in an excellent way . Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

the anturium we have in my garden is pink. I never saw one with the central part in green as this one. I never posted more flowers on TE after my wild flowers were removed. but I guess nobody more pay attentions in rules.
take care

Hi Bev
Well photographed showing well the colours and textures. I always think that these look as though they are made from plastic.

Hello Beverley,
The colours and textures are really beautiful indeed and the sharpness allows us to see everything in lots of detail. Nice depth of field as well.

Hello Bev,
I've never seen this kind of flower before, and you captured it very well. The colors remind me of Christmas, and the flower itself looks very waxy. It's certainly an interesting flower! Take care. :-)
